When he received his honorary doctorate of business administration from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom, Bob Hartsook was introduced as “… the most influential living person in philanthropy.” He continues to be a tireless visionary who has advanced fundraising through expert counsel and philanthropic support of the fundraising profession. Bob has invested more than $30 million to support advanced fundraising education and created numerous forums for applied fundraising research. He established the first chair in fundraising in the world at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and founded Hartsook Institutes, which initiated and supported a fully-accredited Hartsook Institute master’s degree in fundraising.
